The Jeep brand at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show

With 2018 being the best year of sales for the Jeep brand in Europe, not only seeing record sales in markets across the continent including Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Portugal but also a growth of 56% compared to 2017; the brand will have collection on show with major new products at show. This is the fifth year of continuous growth in Europe for the brand, and the third year where sales scored over 100,00 units.

The best-selling model in the range was the Jeep Compass, followed shortly by one of the top-selling vehicles in its segment, the Jeep Renegade. The third spot winner, new-generation Wrangler, also clocked the Europe’s best-year of sales ever, growing 86% from 2017. Jeep will introduce even more special edition models at the show, thanks to a continued growth and demand for exclusive options. The brand will be introducing:

  • The new ‘S’ range will make a debut at the show with a special-edition Renegade, Compass, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.
  • The Trailhawk family is completed with the new Cherokee Trailhawk as well as with all the Jeep SUVs now donning the ‘Trail Rated; badge as a symbol to successfully tackle all challenges.
  • Custom models made from Jeep Authentic Accessories by Mopar (which is also the FCA brand for aftermarket products and services for 80 years) to further enhance the Jeep features and SUVs

Some important news for the future of the Jeep brand will be unveiled at the press conference on Tuesday 5 March. 

 

Authentic Jeep Accessories by Mopar

The Jeep Wrangler is the icon of the brand, ad now in its fourth generation, and continues to be the undisputed off-road champion but still offers the highest level of comfort and handling for daily use. The new Uconnect system also takes this icon to another level of advanced technology with a full-colour capacitive high-definition 7-inch and 8.4-inch touchscreens.

There is also a Mopar edition of the Wrangle Rubicon that comes fit with a 100% street legal configuration. These are all enhanced by Jeep Performance Parts. These parts, together with a 2-inch suspension lift kit, snorkel, rock rails, black door sill guards, a black fuel door, all-weather mats and 1941 sticker make this vehicle a centrepiece.

Selected from a range of over 200 accessories that are dedicated to Jeep Wrangler, by Mopar, this model includes a Matt Black seven-slot grille, moulded splash guards, off-road lights and mirror caps that all contrast the yellow paintwork. These accessories are created by the same teams that design the original vehicle, and provide the best in functionality, safety, style and performance. These accessories continue onto the inside of the car with a black mesh sun bonnet, front grab handles and tailgate table.

To very express the versatility of the Jeep icon, the Wrangler Sahara will be displayed besides the above car, with an urban customisation theme. To stand out on the Ocean Blue paint, a chrome-plated fuel cap as well as door sill guards are featured.

Both these vehicles are powered by a new 2.0-litre petrol engine that delivers 272 HP, with an 8-speed automatic transmission and two all-wheel drive systems offered in the Wrangler range – Command-Trac for the Sahara, and Rock-Trac for the Rubicon.

The Jeep Renegade also has the Mopar experts’ attentions with a limited trim level and all-new Bikini body-colour combined with a Polar Plunge leather interior. The special urban customisation is characterised with a rear scuff plate, front DAM, side mouldings and door sill guards with the Jeep logo in Subshine Grey – the same colour as the mirror caps and front grille. It also comes equipped with a cargo organiser and carpet mats.

 

New ‘S’ Range

This is a first for Europe and at a motor show that the Jeep brand will put the new ‘S’ range on display. The ‘S’ range line-up enhances a sporty element and metropolitan appeal of the Renegade, Compass, Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee, while keeping with their off-road capabilities. They express what it’s like to belong to the Jeep brand with values of freedom, authenticity, adventure and passion.

 

New Jeep Renegade ‘S’

This top-of-the-range limited version dons an Alpine White exterior, and an even sportier look than before with a black roof and Low Gloss Granite Crystal accents on the iconic seven-slot front grille as well as several badges (4x4, Jeep, Renegade, and ‘S’). To complete the look of the model, it comes with Granite Crystal 19-inch alloy wheels and model-specific roof bars.

The sportiness of the ‘S’ special edition carries on inside the car and the premium seats with tungsten stitching and a leather-wrapped steering with black stitching enhance the all-black environment. It comes equipped with user-friendly technology like the Uconnect 8.4-inch NAV with Apple Carplay and Android Auto Additional with exclusive features for comfort and safety. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collison Warning, dual-zone automatic A/C, front and rear parking sensors and a Full Pack LED with LED daytime running lights, headlamps, fog lamps and tail lamps.

A 1.3-litre Turbo T4 engine delivers 180 HP with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Included in the engine line-up a 1.3-litre Turbo T4 engine that delivers 150 HP and a 1.6-litre Multijet II diesel with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed DDCT. The 2.0-litre Mulitjet II 4x4 is complete with a 9-speed automatic transmission. You still get the legendary off-road capability that only Jeep know how to bring with an advanced 4x4 system, rear axle disconnect, Selec-Terrain traction control and Hill Start Assist.

The Jeep Renegade ‘S’ will be launched to the European markets in the second quarter of 2019.

 

New Jeep Compass ‘S’

Joining a line-up of the best-selling Jeep models and making its European debut in Geneva, the new Compass ‘S’ is ready to show off its sporty metropolitan look with sophistication for customers who want to stand out with over 70 passive and active safety systems and start-of-the-art off-road technology.

The Jeep Compass ‘S’ sports a two-tone Pearl White exterior with a standard black roof and new 19-inch Low Gloss Granite Crystal wheels. The badges, front grille, fog lamp outer bezels, lower fascia applique and DLO (signature daylight opening) surrounds feature the same finish. You’ll find a beautiful black leather interior inside that contrasts the tungsten colour stitching and Gun Metal central console bezel with a Uconnect 8.4-inch NAV system. This special edition also includes Bi-Xenon headlights, automatic high beams, power tailgate, Adaptive Cruise Control, Beats sound system and electric 8-way seats.

Under the bonnet of the display vehicle is a 2.0-litre Multijet 170 HP engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The engine line-up includes the 1.4-litre petrol engine delivering 140 or 170 HP (with a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission four-wheel drive), a 1.6-litre Multijet II producing 120 HP with manual transmission and a 2.0-litre with 140 or 170 HP and a 9-speed automatic transmission. Non-European markets can access a 2.4-litre petrol engine delivering 150 HP or 175 HP with a 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

The new Jeep Compass ‘S’ is due to launch in the second quarter of 2019.

 

New Jeep Cherokee ‘S’

The new Cherokee ‘S’ special edition is an evolution of the mid-size SUV as we know it, that balances out the demands of city driving with off-road adventures.

This special edition in the range adds a sporty appeal with specific interior content that oozes comfort and luxury yet keeping with tradition and design while taking inspiration from the premium nature of the Jeep family. The edition also features a Pearl White exterior with special interior finishes.

The outside of this new model sports a satin gloss Granite Crystal Metallic 19-inch wheels with the same Granite Crystal Metallic accents for the ‘Jeep’, ‘4x4 badges, roof rails and fog lamp bezels.

The cabin offers plenty of space with sculpted shapes and superior materials and comes packed with innovative technology. Incredible care and attention were taken to create an exceptional interior with Nappa leather black fabrics that feature a tungsten accent stitching on the seats, armrests and centre console. Features have been selected to ensure the highes- level comfort in this specific model, including Uconnect 8.4-inch NAV with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & go, Active Speed Limiter, Forward Collision Warning Plus and pedestrian recognition. The features continue with Advanced Brake Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Path Detection, Keyless Enter-N-Go, parking sensors and Parallel & Perpendicular Park Assist. The power for this model comes from a 2.0-litre Turbo 270 HP petrol engine with 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

The commercial launch is set for the second quarter of the year.

 

Jeep Grand Cherokee S Limited

Since the brand launched the premium SUV segment 26 years ago, over six million units have been sold, and they continue to add value to this with the new S Limited model.

The S Limited is easily recognised for by being its bold and sporty design based on the Limited trim level. Exterior features have been taken from the Grand Cherokee SRT model, with front and rear fascia with Low Gloss Granite Crystal finishes. The new model also shows off an SRT-style performance hood but has distinctively Jeep fender flares to push out a stand-out appeal. The exterior feel is rounded off with a burnished exhaust tip and Low Gloss Crystal Granite 20-inch allow wheels with chrome lug nuts.

The cabin features a blacked-out theme along with a new Piano Black centre stack, to keep with the sport appeal of the exterior. It also sports specific black ventilated leather-wrapped perforated front seats with heated cushions and backrests. The infotainment package is taken to new high-tech level and includes a premium Alpine sound system, Active Noise Cancellation, nine speakers, subwoofer and the latest Uconnect 8.4” system with navigation, bonded glass design, Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

The display vehicle of this model at Geneva shows a Bright White exterior with a contrasting black leather interior that is fitted with a 3.0-litre V6 direct injection Common Rail diesel engine featuring Multijet II technology to deliver 250 HP with an 8-speed automatic transmission and shift pedals positioned on the steering wheel. You’ll be able to admire the Grand Cherokee S Limited at dealerships in March.

The introduction of this S Limited edition also marks the market launch of the 2019 Model Year line-up. Jeep is being made even more appealing with an updated interior that includes a redesigned centre console and new technology that provides even more comfort and safety. Some major exterior enhancements for the brand include all-new finishes, new wheels and three new exterior paint colours – Slate Blue. Green Metallic and Sting Grey.

 

New Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

The Jeep brand is also launching the Trailhawk version of its mid-size SUV Cherokee at Geneva which is aimed at customers who want the best off-road performance.

This Trailhawk trim is completing the Cherokee family of all-road specialists, just months after the launch of the new Cherokee. The Trailhawk models have stuck to its brand’s roots of providing a no-compromise attitude with an unmistakable seven-slot grille. The first Trailhawk model was introduced in 2014 with the current generation Cherokee, and followed by the Renegade, Grand Cherokee and Compass.

The famous ‘Trail Rated’ badge – something that is only awarded after passing gruelling tests on the toughest terrain in the world – can be seen on the Trailhawk range. It also boasts an aggressive look and shows that readiness for the trail. The Trailhawk is bursting at the seams with Jeep off-road hardware such as 17-inch off-road tyres, unique front and rear fascia and skid plates, with a 2-centimetre factory lift.

The unsurpassed 4x4 capability of the model is further enhanced with Jeep Active Drive Lock with maximised traction of extreme conditions. It also has Selec-Terrain with five models that include Rock – an exclusive Traikhawk trim. It also has an approach angle of 29.9-degrees, departure angle of 32.2-degrees and breakover angle of 22.9-degrees. The ground clearance comes to 22cm.

The vehicle on display in Geneva sports a Trail Rated badge with Firecracker Red Clear Coat livery, certifying it to perform in challenging off-road conditions that are identified by 5 key categories: traction, ground clearance, how the vehicle manoeuvres, articulation and water fording.

Under the bonnet this car is powered by a new 2.0-litre Turbo petrol engine that delivers 270 HP and 400 Nm with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The display car at Geneva is also equipped with front and rear parking sensors, Uconnect 8.4-inch navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch TFT colour screen and premium sound system with nine speakers and a subwoofer. The safety inventory is comprised of Active Speed Limiter, Forward Collision Warning Plus with pedestrian recognition, Advanced Brake Assist, Lane Departure Warning Plus, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Path Detection, Keyless Enter-N-Go and Parallel & Perpendicular Park Assist.

The engine – a new 2.0-litre petrol engine – is making its European debut on the Cherokee Trailhawk, joining the 2.2-litre Turbo diesel that is already available in the Cherokee range. This engine can be chosen on the 4x4 version of this car and will be for safe across Europe from April.

 

Jeep Compass Night Eagle

Th Jeep C-SUV has been given a bolder look with the Night Eagle special edition, adding an exclusive element. Sporting a generous standard equipment list and black accents on the exterior, the dark look and feel of the Night Eagle, complements the style of the Compass. To bring an aggressive look to the vehicle, the grille, fog lights and halogen headlight bezels are Gloss Black, as well as the daylight opening trim being black too. This dark theme is carried out throughout the car with the ‘Jeep’ and ‘4x4’ badges also donning a darker shade, and the 19-inch alloy tyres mountain on Gloss Black and Diamond Cut aluminium alloy wheels. The Night Eagle badge rounds off the look.

The Night Eagle on show has been enhanced to bring a sporty feel to the car with the interior is Laser Blue with a black roof and a cloth/techno-leather. The engine in the display model has a1.4-litre HP petrol engine with manual transmission, as well as 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen radio and navigation system, ParkView rear camera with grid and rear parking assistance. This model is already available at Jeep dealerships.

 

FCA Bank

The FCA Bank is making an appearance at the Geneva International Motor Show on the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brand stands this year again. Special counters are staffed by finance experts where visitors will be able to find out about new, and current, offers for each market.

The FCA Bank provides finance and insurance products to support the sales of the car brands in 17 European countries, as well as Morocco, directly or through subsidies. It is represented by the FCA Capital Suisse in Switzerland.
